Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Conjunctivitis
Allergic conjunctivitis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM
From your description you are concerned that you may have pink eye or bacterial conjunctivitis. If you are having pink eye then your eyes should be red and have a purulent drainage or crusting of the eyes. From you description your eye are actually dry and puffy. This makes me think you may have an allergic conjunctivitis. This can be caused by having just turned on the heat and all the dust from your heating ducts pouring dust and pollens into the air.
You can continue your child's eye drops but if you do not have a bacterial infection it will not help. You continue to take it 2 drops to affected eyes 2-4 times daily until eyes clear.
For you I recommend that you take an over the counter allergy eye drops. Ask your pharmacist to recommend one for you. If you want your doctor can prescribe allergy eye drops too, like patanol.
In addition I recommend using warm or cool compresses to the eye to reduce symptoms of itching.
If these recommendations don't help then I recommend you see your doctor because you may have a dry eye problem and need additional eye drops.
