Suggest Treatment For Bad Acne And Dark Spots On The Face
Remedy for acne
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
You seem to have inflammatory acne. Inflammatory acne is prone to leave behind dark spots. Sudden flare up of acne could be because of stress or transient hormonal imbalance. Females may especially experience an outburst of acne around the time of menses.
Instead of using just clindamycin gel you may use a combination of benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin (Clindoxyl gel) as it would be more effective and is also safe during pregnancy. Instead of using salicylic acid face wash you may find a gentle cleansing lotion a much better option e.g Cetaphil gentle cleansing lotion.
Since you are planning to conceive i wont suggest any oral treatment for your acne.
Regards
Regarding your complaints of freckles, acne spots and ageing
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
You may use a gel based sunscreen e.g Suncote gel. Apply sunscreen every 3 hours throughout the day. You may use Kojic cream for freckles at night and also for acne spots. However use clindoxyl gel for acne, once daily at night.
Once your acne is fine and after you have discontinued clindoxyl you may then begin with Glyco -A cream (contains 12% glycolic acid) for night application and sunscreen during the day. Glycolic acid would improve complexion, even out tone and also lighten freckles as well as is antiageing.
Your face wash should be mild e.g eithrr cetaphil gentle cleansing lotion or cetaphil OS cleanser (in case of oily skin).
After cleansing you may also use a toner in case you have an oily T zone. This should be followed ny sunscreen application during the day.
At night after cleansing you may use clindoxyl for acne and kojic cream for freckles and spots. Clindoxyl and kojic cream may be replaced with glyco A cream (night application) after your acne is fine and you have stopped clindoxyl. Dont use glyco A as long as you are using clindoxyl as together they may cause irritation.
