Question: I was moving something heavy on Saturday and heard 3 snaps in my left arm bicep. It is very painful to do certain things with it. I can move it but not in all directions. It just started showing bleeding inside and is very painful to the touch. My bicep looks disproportionate.

I have appointment on Thursday with the Doctor. Do I need to go in sooner?

Brief Answer:
Could be tear in biceps muscle.

Detailed Answer:
Hi , I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
With the history you have mentioned , it seems that you have probably torn your biceps muscle in the arm. You should use Ice packs and take pain killers for the time being.
In this condition normally we don't use any surgical intervention as the functions return slowly to acceptable levels. However I would like a MRI to confirm the diagnosis and extent of tear.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
