Suggest Treatment For Bilateral Elbow Pain
Tennis elbow is a possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Hope this message finds you in good health.
Thank you for posting the query.
The symptoms that you have mentioned seem to be of bilateral tennis elbow. The outer bony part of the elbow is the area where the forearm muscles are attached. This junction of muscles and bone, when inflammed, is termed as TENNIS ELBOW.
This can be caused by minor trauma to the elbow unknowingly or by lifting something heavy in the past.
If you have tried ibuprofen and local gels and if its not helping, then you should get a X ray and MRI of the elbow done. This will rule out other causes of elbow pain like bursitis, osteochondritis etc.
If these reports confirm the diagnosis of tennis elbow, then compression bandage, physiotherapy (local ultrasonic / LASER ) will be helpful to get relief from pain.
If even this doesn't help, then a local steroid injection shot in the inflammed area should be taken.
These injections can be given upto maximum 3 doses per elbow with a interval of 21 days between each injection.
Feel free to ask me any doubts that you may have.
I hope this answer was useful.
Thank you.
Kind regards.
