It seems to be due to the throat infection and usually in the start it is viral. But as described by you and for 7 days and isn't going away, it seems that secondary bacterial infection has started.
Management options:-
Gargle with Scope or Listerine mouthwash.
Steam inhalation.
Keep a warm mist vaporizer in your bedroom with vicks pads in it. It will soothe your breathing.
Take plenty of water to drink.
More vegetables, fruits and salads.
No beverages, fried and junk foods.
Medication guide:-
Azithromycin by mouth.
Fexet-D by mouth.
Ibuprofen by mouth.
