Suggest Treatment For Bloating And Difficulty In Urinating

something I can get over the counter to help
I am feeling very bloated
Please be so kind as to provide me with a little more information, thx
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to start by saying that there are numerous conditions that can cause such a presentation like infections, uterine fibroids, etc. So the most important thing is a diagnosis. If you do not mind being a little patient with me I would like to treat the issue here, and not the symptom (as it will be present as long as the cause is present).
Do you have any of the following symptoms, please do write back to me with a response for the same:
+Burning sensation while urinating
+Increased urge to urinate but no urine being passed
+Lowe abdominal pain or lower back pain
+Have you been in a seated position for a long time, due to your travel?
+Did you at any point of time during your travel control your urine, and not pass it immediately?
+How has your fluid intake been in the past and currently (while on vacation) on a scale of 0 to 5. Please provide a score for both (past and currently). 0 being very poor intake, 5 being more than 2-3 litres a day
I look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, or with any information that is relevant to our discussion that can help me, I would really appreciate it.
Best wishes.

Thank you for your help. XXXXXXX
??Urinary tract infection (UTI), travel-associated
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and thank you for that information.
With the provided positive response to those symptoms, it appears as though you may be suffering from a urinary tract infection, and will require the following:
+Antibiotic coverage (e.g. norfloxacin 400 mg, nitrofurantoin, etc.) twice a day
+Plenty of fluids
+Avoid the coffee
+Keep the genital region dry and clean, change inner wear frequently, do not urinate in public toilets, etc.
+Di-sodium hydrogen citrate or potassium chloride containing syrup (1 tbsp to be taken four times a day)
Your symptoms should clear in 2 days time, but the infection may take about a week to clear so continue these medications for at least a week. Once you get home, it would also be wise to get an ultrasound KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder) to be conducted which will help rule out kidney or bladder stones as the cause for the infection.
I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you ma'am. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
