Suggest Treatment For Boil On Left Breast Near Areola
I had a boil in my left breast near aerola area, for which I went to the gynecologist and she had suggested me to do some tests and ultra sound (USG). She had prescribed - Azithral=500 (twice for 3days), Emazen-D (Twice for 5days)
In USG report it is stated that - "Small Anechoic lesion in the subcutaneous plane of left breast s/o infected sebaceous gland.
After that gynec had prescribed - Neosprine cream to apply.
Now the boil is dissolved, there is no lump in the breast. But it has left some marks. So I see the dermatologist (but didn't show him the mark). He has prescribed to apply Lutica cream. Is that ok?
Scar marks-cosmetic problem
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Lutica (Fluticasone) cream is a topical corticosteroid and is mainly used for skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema and psoriasis.
Scar marks caused by healed infected sebaceous gland is unlikely to resolve with
corticosteroid ointment.
Topical application of Silicone Ultra GEL or Silicone sheets (may be secured with tape or worn beneath a pressure garment) is often recommended for this purpose. The mechanism of action is not understood, but increased hydration of the skin, which decreases capillary activity, inflammation, hyperemia, and collagen deposition, may be involved.
Intra-lesional corticosteroid injections is the second-line treatment for HTS (Hypertrophic scars ) if topical therapies have failed.
