Suggest Treatment For Boils On The Body Of An Infant After Shifting To A New Home
Question: Hi Doc,
We have just shifted our house to a new house. During shifting my daughter must have been infected with dust. After 3-4 days if shifting we saw few boils on her body. We applied Jonshons Baby Cream and few got vanished. But day by the boils are increasing. Now she has around 7-8 such small boils on her body. She is 7 months old.
Kindly suggest some medicine as well as precautions.
Best Regards,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Some antiallergic like cetirizine should help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone carefully through your query. It seems that your child is allergic to dust and is manifesting with the same. If that is the case, taking some antiallergic like cetirzine once daily for the next few days should provide relief. However, I would need you to upload an image of the affected area. It will help me to confirm on the same.
I will await your responses.

Brief Answer:
Contact dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have checked the attached images. The problem seems not to be due to dust but due to some insect bite or some contact with some insect. Technically it is called contact dermatitis. It involves an allergic reaction similar to dust allergy. Unless the child develops fever or any other complication, management will comprise of application of some emollient like calamine lotion (not mandatory) and give some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days.
You need not worry. It should resolve in the next few days.
