Question: I suffer from Brain hypoxia, I seem to be having and issue with certain sounds causing my stomach to constrict at points it will get so tight it will constrict my rib cage, I can't handle fans, the sound of AC, if I listen to the stereo in the car I can listen to country on low but if Def Leopard or gun and roses comes on stomachs is constricted, I can't hand the humming of my tires if I am at a low speed it's not as bad as a high speed. If I go into Walmart the fans in there will put me on my knees to a point of a seizure in almost 5 minutes, if I wear ear plugs no problems. The printer in my office if I forget to turn it off and it's hums in my left ear, after 15 mins. It will cause me to studder, my right arm and hand will be stiff unable to use, and will be disoriented. What is going on with my hearing. Theven house fan has caused me to wake up from a nap and I don't know who I am, don't know where I am and don't know who my husband is, I am on Topamax for seizures. But I think this hearing also causing something with my left eye as well, and causing pain down the left side of my neck. To my shoulder. My left ear feels hot and full at times, when my ear feels hot and full, I get pain that radiates to the T2 are that is about 1 inch in width, it also radiates to my left eyes causing my left eye to have vision problems but also muscle control issues it wants to be lazy and look outward and twitch, pain will also radiate down my neck below my ear and behind my ear towards the back base of my skull. I have also taken a nap when I have had this pain in the ear and woken up and I don't know where I am, don't know who I am, or who my husband is. (this was all set off by sitting under a ceiling fan).

Brief Answer:
audiometry.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having hearing issues.

Based on your clinical details, Hyperacusis (general intolerance to any sounds) commonly seen in inner ear disorders.

I suggest you to do pure tone audiogram with audiometry to see any associated hearing loss. The most common treatment for hyperacusis is retraining therapy which uses broadband noise (its from audiologist, after audiometry confirmation).

Related to radiating pain, it looks like muscle spasm or early changes of spondylitis. I also suggest you to do MRI neck to rule out any nerve compression leading to radiating pain.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions

The muscle spasm in my stomach is in conjunction with the sounds almost like vertigo, instead of getting nausea I am getting pain. Like I said earlier if I am in the car, turn the radio on the stomach spasm starts turn it off it stops turn it on starts off it stops. Also though it's the type of music I listen to. Say I listen to something with a lot of a acoustics like def Leopard, Guns & roses, will cause stomach spasms where as XXXXXXX Rodgers or XXXXXXX XXXXXXX won't. But I also have to listen to something because I can't tolerate the humming of my tires if I am at a low speed, the stomach spasms aren't as painful as if I am going down the highway doing 70 MPH.

Does this makes sense at all? And retaininget to hear is that retaining an ear to hear or a brain to hear? And is there surgery required? And is this a long drawn out process?

Brief Answer:
need ultrasound abdomen and gastro surgeon opinion.

Detailed Answer:

Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

Answers for your queries.

1. As such, there is no organic relation (sounds causing stomach spasms) in human physiology.

It could be irritable bowl or due to stress (it can be diagnosed by gastro surgeon with detailed history, ultrasound and with colonoscopy).

2. Tinnitus retraining therapy, a treatment originally used to treat tinnitus, uses broadband noise to treat hyperacusis. By listening to broadband noise at soft levels for a disciplined period of time each day, patients can rebuild (i.e., re-establish) their tolerances to sound.

3. No. You did not require any surgery.

4. Kindly follow the investigations, what I have already suggested to know the exact cause.

All the best. Take care.
