A healing bruise
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Health Care Magic, Thanks for writing to us,
I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad, I have read your question, I understand your concern and will try to help you in the best possible way.
I am sorry to know about your pain, I saw the pictures closely and i can well imagine how hard it would have hit the step, I am quite sure that there must have been some tissue injury under the skin which bled and now that blood is revealing itself as this bruise.
I am please too that your spine stayed safe and your didn't suffer any fracture, spine fracture is never something I would want in my patients, they can cause devastating effects on life.
In my opinion this is a healing bruise. A soft tissue injury bruise has a special pattern of healing , it changes colours and it reaches a peak in terms of pain and swelling and then regresses. I expect this to get back to normal in no more than 10-12 days, It will take this much time because you got quite a hard hit.
Here are some suggestions which will help you get relief from symptoms and will help the bruise get better.
1) Take as much rest as you can.
2) Avoid pressure being put on the area.
3) Cold compress it thrice a day for 10-15 mins each it will relieve some swelling and pain.
4) Massage the area gently thrice a day with brufen or dicloran cream.
5) In some days swelling will go , then you can apply warm compressions to the area to increase blood supply and get rid of the bruise as early as possible but until its swollen, don't warm compress.
6) You can take brufen 400 mg twice a day or tylenol 500mg thrice a day for pain relief.
Stay calm it will take a couple of weeks to get to normal so make your mind and try to follow measures to make it heal quickly and well.
Stay blessed .
I Hope this answers your question, if your have more queries feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it. Wish you the best of health.
Regards,
