Brief Answer:
A detailed physical examination and investigations might be required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

Usually the vessels in this age group are friable and very much prone to ooze even in very minor inadvertent trauma which might not be noticed by the person effected. Also they are usually on anti platelet or blood thinning agents to prevent clotting in the vessels, and so the small oozing does not stop of its own or might take a longer time resulting in the persistence of bruises resulting from superficial leakage of blood from vessels.

If I were your doctor, I would go for a general physical examination of yours followed by stoppage of any kind of blood thinning agents (like aspirin) after consulting your physician/cardiologist who started this drug. Apart from this I would advise you and your care taker to prevent any inadvertent trauma however minor it might be, and to avoid pressure for long duration of time on a particular site by changing your positions frequently.

From investigations part, I would advise you for a CBC, Clotting profile, LFT, S lipid profile, kidney function tests, s electrolytes, an ECG, X ray chest, and an ECHO if advised by your cardiologist.

On the medicinal front, I would like to add vit c tablets (500mg once to twice a day) in addition to the medications which you might be on after consulting your regular physician.

Further management would depend on the investigation reports and a general physical examination findings.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
