Brief Answer:
Medical treatment would help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your grandmother's symptoms. The likely causes are small brain stroke, involving right thalamus or peripheral neuropathy.

As of now, you can start medications such as gabapentin. This would give her relief.

I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Brief Answer:
The usual dose is 300-600 mg per day

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

The usual dose of gabapentin is 300 mg to 600 mg per day in two or three divided doses.

I often start a dose of 100 mg thrice daily in my patients. It can be taken for one month and review after that.

Best wishes,
