Brief Answer:
Conservative vs Operative treatment options

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

Bursitis / bursa inflammation is caused by accumulation of fluid inside the bursal sac. Due to its pressure symptoms it causes pain in the affected area.

Treatment options include anti inflammatory tablets, rest, local gel with hot fomentation. Maximum bursae heal with this treatment.

If this doesn't help, then physiotherapy should be helpful. It may include short wave diathermy, ultrasonic therapy or LASER.

Often these measures are enough to treat bursa inflammation.

Rarely, local steroid injection or complete surgical removal of inflammed bursa may be required.

MRI of shoulders will be helpful to find out the cause of bursitis and the extent of affected tissue.

I hope this answer was helpful.

Feel free to ask me any doubts that you may have.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
