hi there..
As per your history it seems that there is
nerve compression in your back but reason for compressed nerve cant be judged without physical examination. it can be disc herniation ,any local
injury or trauma,
muscular weakness and muscle spasm(involuntary
muscle contraction in order to prevent any harm or injury to that muscle while doing any exhertional activity or any activity involving wrong postures like stooping or bending). In my opinion,to get relief from pain or compressed nerve following line of treatment should be done :
To get pain relief -muscle relaxants and anti inflammatory drugs are a good option
Along with that
physical therapy should be done as your problem is mechanical and root cause should be treated.
For that proper
physiotherapy sessions should be followed to get pain relief and restore your normal day to day activities.
To relieve pain you may have manual therapy session(techniques performed by trained manual therapists to release the compressed nerve and hence giving pain relief ),Moist heat fomentation , TENS ,
Ultrasonic therapy and yes the most important is REST and following correct postures while getting up and lying down in bed and other daily living activities,,
After your pain is relieved you should go for strengthening exercises, streching exercises and core muscle strengthening to prevent such injuries in future.(without follow up of exercises problem can recur any moment)so keep yourself active with good postures and good strength.
certain precautions for now
dont lie straight on bed, either lie on your side with a pilllow between your legs or lie on your stomach with a pillow under your feet.. if you wanna lie down straight please maintain a pillow under your head and one under your knees. follow the postures whichever is comfortable for you.
Hope you will find the post helpful..
take care and get well soon
