Suggest Treatment For Cellulitis In The Injured Knee Area

Question: how long does it take for cellulitis to develop after a nail /screw puncture to the knee area?
Brief Answer:
Cellulitis
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you have a puncture wound to the knee from a nail or screw. If the area becomes infected you should notice redness and swelling within 24 -48 hours. If it does then you need to see a medical provider for antibiotic therapy. After the injury keep the clean. Wash the wound with saline water and cover with neosporin and a bandage. Change the bandage twice daily and clean the wound twice daily until the area is healed.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Hi, I have provided some attachments. Please review them.
Brief Answer:
Adoxa
Detailed Answer:
You submitted a copy of a prescription for adoxa. This is a doxycycline antibiotic used frequently for cellulitis of the skin. If you have infection then you need to take the medication and take it all as directed. The adoxa can not be taken with milk as it binds to the calcium and will be less effective.
