Suggest Treatment For Cellulitis On Breast
Question: HI I'M 43 YRS OLD AND HAVE A WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM..I HAVE DEVELOPED A HUGE PAINFUL KNOT IN MY BREAST AND WENT TO THE DR WHO SAID IT WAS CELLULITIS AND GAVE ME ANTIBIOTICS CEPHFLEXIN; HOWEVER ITS BEEN 4 DAYS AND I AM STILL IN A LOT OF PAIN WITH IT.. WHEN WILL IT IMPROVE OR DO I NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DR AGAIN?

When good antibiotics are used,Cellulitis will come down. Otherwise, it develops into an Abscess.
Please consult your doctor and get an Ultrasound of the affected breast.If there is abscess,the pus has to be drained.
Usually, I prescribe Antibiotic like Clindamycin capsule 600mg thrice daily along with anti inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints initially. If pus forms,I will drain it.
