the mucus is greenish yellow. no breathing difficulty but a very deep breath will make my cough a lot. my chest does hurt from coughing no major soreness in throat. went to Dr on Tues and a strep test was negative. just overall fatigue and headache make it impossible for me to function without Tylenol and motrin.

It seems like Throat Infection.
Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for the follow up.
It could still be Throat Infection. I advise you to get a test called Thraot swab Culture sensitivity and Sputum Culture sensitivity doe and revert back with reports.
Also ask for a prescription for an antibiotic ( preferable Levofloxacin ) and use it . Also do salt water gargling, drink hot water, Avoid Non veg and oily food . Avoid Citrus Fruits.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
Regards.
