Question: What does my blood pressure mean if it's 147/102 and my heart rate is 86? I'm 39 year old white female. I have been feeling a little "off" lately and having some chest pain. I also have anxiety and been under a lot of stress! How do I tell if my symptoms are caused by my heart or anxiety?

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that however anxiety is a major factor that contributes to raised blood pressure and even chest discomfort.

However in your case to have to be sure that it's not due to any cardiac issue I would like to suggest you to get few basic cardiac tests done.

1. ECG
2. Echocardiography
3. Lipid profile
4. HbA1c

Considering your age group which is approaching 40 and as your blood pressure is slightly high kindly get these test done and personally consult your doctor for evaluation.

I hope this information will answer your query and guide you properly.

Kind regards
