Brief Answer:
Chicken Pox

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your question.

Based on the history given, but sight unseen, it sounds like she may very well chicken pox. Like any other virus, it will run its course on its own. This usually takes about 7 to 10 days. It is important that she not scratch. Scratching the lesions may lead to a secondary bacterial infection that could require antibiotic treatment. If she is experiencing pain, or fever she can be treated with ibuprofen and cool fluids my mouth. if the itching becomes too difficult for her off in a teaspoon of Benadryl can control it. She is contagious as long as she has open lesions. Once the lesions have crusted over, she is no longer contagious
