Question: I have tried falling asleep by myself without any kind of sleeping aid I take a lot of pain pills such as hydrocodone hydromorphone ETC...

However even after those they are not making me drowsy at all or even tired and it's just really hard to go to sleep at night the only sound that I have in the room is my fan I tried using a sound application on my phone that's not helping either just a little bit of calm music any suggestions? If you have an answer as to what might be causing this please be as thorough as possible so that I might be able to understand I will still follow up on the questions that I have on your explanation if I have any otherwise I will just thank you and close the thread I appreciate your feedback and answer in advanced

Brief Answer:
Medications may be needed for sleep.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms. It is indeed difficult to carry on routine physical & mental activities, if you can not have a sound sleep.

Sleep problem could be multifactorial in your case. The first could be pain itself. Any pain interferes with sleep.
Second factor could be anxiety or stress related to pain or lack of sleep itself.
Finally, if the above factors are absent and there is no obvious cause of lack of sleep, then, it is called primary insomnia.

In this case, certain medications can help you. These include zolpidem and melatonin tablets. Zolpidem is a sleep inducer, and works for the first two hours of sleep. After that, your natural sleep takes over. Melatonin is a hormone released from pineal gland, which causes sleep to occur.

Best wishes,
