It doesn't seem to be anything dangerous.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
My name is Dr Muhammad Ahmad & I will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.
I have gone through your history in detail and I have read each and everything you wrote in this question and the one you posted three days back, I am sorry for what happened , and with that I want to congratulate you on your bravery and determination, it was indeed a good set of genes that helped you through, but I would like to say that it was a strong pair of brains and a strong heart which kept you going, After such an incident if you are feeling healthy and not suffering any psychological illness and depression, I would call it a big achievement.
MY OPINION:
Now I will come to my opinion in present scenario, that's what seems to have happened, restraint was applied too tightly on your ankle and it crushed lymphatic’s and blood vessels badly.. lucky for you can with sequential compression pumping you circulation was restored indeed having a swollen ankle is better than getting an amputation, any ways, circulation was restored by damage was there specially lymphatic’s would have been crushed badly... veins were weak to, as time passed by and gravity played its part during standing or driving (especially if your routine is to stand much or sit with legs hung down) the veins starting to lose their wall integrity and fluid started to ooze out, as lymphatic’s are involved in RE-ABSORBING the edema fluid but they were damages, so fluid kept on accumulating and ankle is now swollen. There DOES NOT seem to be any other reason to this because all other reasons would involve either both legs or at least one leg completes not just a particular area which has a history of crushing.
How dangerous is this condition?
It is NOT dangerous and it will not progress to get dangerous all you have to do is to take care and make its care a part of your lifestyle.
SUGGESTION:
I would like you to meet a general surgeon or an orthopedic surgeon for better examination check-up and follow-up. We here indeed have many limitations as we cannot run tests on you neither can we examine, we can just try to help you decide better and guide you through better health.
1- Visit a doctor as I suggested.
2- I would advise you to compression stocking most preferably class II compression stocking worn from down to above.
3- Keep your leg elevated, when you sleep put a pillow under it...when you sit better not hang your leg, don't stand for long periods especially without compression stocking.
4- This will start showing its result in 2-3 months and you will also find it easy as this care and lifestyle change will become your second nature.
Here I would like to mention that this is not a dangerous condition and you can control it right here... there may be no permanent cure to it but life style modification and care will help you much, it's like fat in one's body if you care if goes down if you don't care it goes up that's it's only cure ...so stocking, care and life style changes and you are good to go.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health!!
