Question: Hi, I've been having a bunch of scary symptoms since about 3 months now and have been diagnosed 10 years ago with NAFLD (Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) and havent been very careful about it cause I've been told it was bening, I am 5'11 and 235 pounds... the symptoms are:

-thoracic pain (pectoral, upper/middle back, shoulders, arms
-mild numness
-fatigue
-upper right quandrant abdominal pain
-upper left quadrant amdomonal pain
-I also lost 10 pounds very drastically when the symptoms first appeared, like in a week, but I wasnt eating much
-constant tinnitus and dizzy spells, especially at the end of the day
-mild nausea

Since i've been under a lot of stress prior to that my doc only tells me that its stress, I did a bunch of tests for the thorax but all is good, I did an ultrasound of the liver wich shows XXXXXXX as well as CT of the lungs, wich also showed the abdomen, and also showed XXXXXXX but apparently no lesions

I am wondering if simple fatty liver could cause that ? I drastically changed my lifestyle, eating vedgies and fruits and exercising daily, I'm just afraid that its too late and I'm in cirrhosis or progressing towards it.

My blood tests showed ALT/AST 83/40 , ferrinite is slightly higher than normal, phosphore also, and LDH (high normal 232 i'm at 240), my cholesterol is also borderline..

there is clearly inflammation, I just dont know how bad/irreversible it is , and i'm waiting for my MD to give his diagnosis. I heard that biopsies can be quite invasive. are these numbers common in all overweight people or should I be worried? Thank you!by the way: Ferritine is 500 normal high is 400

Brief Answer:
Liver transplantation can be a reasonable option

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.

I can certainly understand your concern.

Many of the lab abnormalities are directly related to underlying NAFLD.
XXXXXXX is a progressive condition known to convert into liver cirrhosis.

Since your young, it's advisable to consider liver transplantation.

Additionally, Weight loss will help to worsen the progression.

I generally prescribe oral pills of Vitamin E and Statins for effective blood cholesterol control.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if prescribe these pills to you.

Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.
