Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Try diet modification.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for posting to us.
It will be helpful if you give few more details:
How long you have this problem?
What about stool consistency-is it hard?
Do you have history of dyspepsia(symptoms like heart burn) in the past?
Anyhow, if it is simple constipation, a diet modification can help a lot - reduce the amount of non vegetarian items, fried, spicy and fast food items. Include enough fruits and green leafy vegetables in the diet. Drink enough fluids. Also make the food habits regular keeping correct schedule. Avoid smoking and alcohol both of which can cause dyspepsia and altered bowel habits.
Hope this answer will help.
Kindly follow up.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.

You can use bisacodyl.
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for the information given.
If needed, you can take stool softening agents like bisacodyl(10 mg at bedtime).
If this is not effective, lactulose syrup (10 to 15 ml 3 times daily) may offer help. These are prescription drugs, for this you need to see a doctor for prescription.
Note that, these should not be used regularly. Not to be used beyond 5 to 7 days at a stretch.
Longterm use of laxative can lead to side effects like laxative dependence and metabolic abnormalities.
If not feeling effective after 2 to 3 days of use, or you feel features like abdominal pain, nausea etc, discontinue further use and kindly consult your doctor.
Also maintain good hydration while taking the drug.
Hope you got cleared now.

Take ranitidine
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for follow up.
You can take acid lowering agent Ranitidine (150 mg twice daily before food), which is an over the counter drug.Take for 3 to 5 days.
Also, kindly stick on to the diet modification we discussed earlier. Any such change in diet or sleep disturbance can cause dyspepsia in susceptible individuals. Also cut down black tee and coffee.
If you are not getting better by two days, kindly see your doctor as this will need stronger agents like omeprazol/pantoprazol and antacids.
Hope this will answer your query. Be free to ask further questions if any; otherwise you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
Take care.
Thank you.
