Suggest Treatment For Constipation
Question: My roommate (male, age 65) has not has a bowel movement in 10 days. He used an enema yesterday & several stool softeners but still no bowel movement.
Brief Answer:
Medical emergency, needs to visit ER
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Not passing stools for 10 days is a medical emergency. Your friend needs to be taken to ER, there they will repeat enema and suppositories and give it a try and if failed will manually evacuate followed by strict constipation management for home and diet and lifestyle adjustments. Constipation and reduced bowel movements are common side effects of anesthesia and surgical procedures. Keep using laxatives and continue enema twice a day to keep the bowels empty.
I hope it helps. Take good care of your friend and yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
