Suggest Treatment For Cough And Acid Reflux When Diagnosed With Acute Bronchitis

Question: I had Acute Bronchitis about a month ago and took antibiotics. It went away for a couple days and then came back. It's a lot better but now I have bouts of coughing during the day. Not at night. It's been over a month now and I can't seem to get rid of this cough. I'm no longer taking anything for it. I also have bad acid reflux and I'm wondering if that may be playing a role in why I can't shake this cough. I've had Bronchitis before but never this long. No shortness of breath but my chest burns.
Brief Answer:
This cough is caused by the acid reflux and not and infection!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this cough. I have reviewed your information fully. This is suggestive of chronic cough caused by gastric reflux. i will rather recommend that you get treated for this reflux. The drugs are available over the counter and I will recommend you take omeprazole. Follow up with me in 5days and let me know whether you have noticed any improvement already.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thanks for your quick reply. Just wanted to add that around the same time, I switched to over the counter meds for reflux due to a change in my insurance. I was taking Dexilant 60mg and now I'm taking 2 Nexiums in the morning. I will arrange to get my prescription refilled for the Dexilant. Maybe that is the issue. Do you think that could play a role?
Brief Answer:
Yes, that could play a role!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I recommend you get back to dexilant and let’s see how your symptoms evolve. Please, do keep me posted as you start the plan.
Until next, I wish you well.
