Suggest Treatment For Cough With Phlegm When Diagnosed With Pneumonia

Question: My son was diagnosed with slight pnemonia he finished his 10 day course of lEva XXXXXXX he took his last steroid of prednisone today and is still on nebulizer with albuterol...Dr also gave him promethazine with codeine my question is does the promethazine with codeine help loosen the mucus?

promethazin and codeine will not loosen the mucus, but inhaling with hot steam, salt water will do best.
