Is It Normal To Have Nausea, Dizziness And Stomach Pain After Stopping Prednisone?

I was on Prednisone treatment for 25 days. I weaned down from 20 mgs for 12 days, 10 mgs for 4 days and 5 mgs for 7 days. I have been off Prednisone for seven days. I have been experiencing extreme nauseousness, some dizziness, and upper belly pain. Is this normal? How long will this last? Is this an adrenal suppression issue?

Hi,

You took low dose Prednisolone for a short period. Prednisolone withdrawal symptoms are usually seen in patients taking long term medication and after abrupt withdrawal.

There are few things to consider here.
* Did you take any pain medication?
* For which condition you took Prednisolone?
* Do you have any stomach or liver conditions?

You should check your blood pressure. Avoid caffeine and alcohol. Get adequate amounts of sleep. If you find your symptoms persisting even after a few days, meet your doctor.
