Suggest Treatment For Cysts Under Skin On My Face
Question: I'm 27, female & developed what seems to be cysts under the skin on my face with waxy moles on top 2 weeks ago. I now have them all over my body (even feet).
I am concerned that this is a skin infection and I do not currently have insurance so I am unsure if I should continue to attempt to treat it myself. The cysts never develop into a pimple although the small waxy lesions show on the skin surface. I have attempted to squeeze and soak/drain it which results in only small amounts of clear discharge and the cyst remains. Most are fairly large and flat. My big concern is that they have now appeared on the heel of my foot and although they are not painful, they seem to be spreading quickly.

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand from your query that you are having some asymptomatic skin lesions which are spreading over your body.
From your history and description, I would consider the possibilities of warts, milia or molluscum contagiosum.
You have a feature to upload the images by yourself at the right side of the query page, please utilize that so that I can answer your query better. You can also send the image as attachment to YYYY@YYYY , with the subject as 'Attn: Dr. Johny Chacko'.

*not all of the lesions are raised but they do have masses underneath the surface of the skin that leaks clear fluid, i can scratch off the surface skin and there is no blood at all.

Possible diagnoses
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have seen the pictures that you have attached. They look like small crusted papules which could indicate healing. I am unable to appreciate any discharge from any of the lesions.
I would consider the possibilities of
1. Papular urticaria- This occurs as a result of insect bite reaction. It may occur after a recent outdoor activity like trekking/ camping, etc.
2. Folliculitis - This is a mild infection of the hair follicle and could occur after shaving/ waxing the hair. However, it does not involve the sole and hence I would keep it as a 2 nd possibility.
Have you had chicken pox in your childhood? Some of the lesions seem like healing chicken pox lesions. Since you give me a history of water filled lesions of 2 weeks duration, the lesions which you have currently may be well into the healing stage.
I would suggest you to apply a cream containing a mild steroid and antibiotic combination like 1 % Hydrocortisone with Neosporin, which you could get over the counter. If you do not get a single cream with the combination, you could buy them separately and mix both in equal proportions and apply twice a day for 10 days.
Hope this helps you.
