Suggest Treatment For Dark Spots On The Lower Calves

Question: I'm a 59 year old man. A couple of years ago I developed dark spots on my lower calves. They got worse, and now the front of my calves are very dark. I'm not in any pain, but I'm concerned.
Brief Answer:
please upload a good quality photo
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
this sounds like a problem of the blood vessels. When the vein valves malfunction, blood is accumulated on the lower parts of the legs (due to gravity) and some of it may get out of the blood vessels and tint the skin.
Uploading a good quality photo would be helpful to identify this condition.
Kind Regards!

Thank you Doctor, but I don't know how to upload pictures. Assuming that your diagnosis is correct, is there anything I can do about it...and is it dangerous ?
Brief Answer:
you should consult a vascular surgeon if the diagnosis is correct
Detailed Answer:
You're welcome. Uploading pictures is easy. You can even use your XXXXXXX phone to take a (good) picture and you can upload it with your follow-up question.
Anyway, if it is indeed chronic venous insufficiency then the most common complaint is swelling of the legs and a mild discomfort when the legs are swollen. Less commonly clotting in the veins may occur and some difficult to heal ulcers may appear.
If the diagnosis is correct, you should consult a vascular surgeon for further investigation with an ultrasound scan of the vessels (triplex).
Since, I don't have any visual data of the lesions, I would suggest starting from a dermatologist because the lesions could be just freckles for example.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.
Kind Regards!
