Does Brawny Edema Display A Skin Pigmentation Change?
I am 60 years old, 6 3 310lbs. Diagnosed with Degenerative disk disease, 7 bulging disks, in addition to Chronic Venous Insufficiency. My question is; does Brawny Edema always display a skin pigmentation change, or can it exist outside of the color/pigment portion of the leg? I have been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency (both legs) and have had the condition for well over 12 years. I finally had to stop work due to this issue . I have applied for Social Security Disablity, and they state I need to have 2/3 of the leg between the ankle and the knee inflicted. The pigment/color change is approx 1/2 of that area on each leg. Hence the original questions. Thank you...Rick

Does Brawny Edema Display A Skin Pigmentation Change?
Hi, Long standing edema can cause pigmentation due to heme deposited at that site due to stasis. So first treat the venous pathology. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Saravanan, Cosmetic & Plastic Surgeon
