Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. No, you should not be concerned. Varicose veins are enlargement of legs veins due to weakened vessel wall and insufficiency of vein valves. It is usually caused by long standing, obesity and genetic factors. Such veins break easily and hematomas may occur even after minor trauma. It should be treated as usual with ice compresses, resting, bandages with pressure, and elastic stockings. In severe cases it can be treated with surgery which is also a permanent solution then. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
