Suggest Treatment For Decreased Libido
Viagra has not been much help because of the lack of desire. (I KNOW IT'S NOT AN APHRODISIAC). I do smoke marijuana 1-2 times/week. Anything I'm missing?
P.S. MY DHEA IS 210
Hello Welcome to HCM
Detailed Answer:
You are a 58 year old healthy male with complaints of progressively decreasing libido. You are otherwise healthy and are currently taking Escitalopram 10 mg per day and no other significant medicines. (as per summary). You have normal testosterone levels with slightly decreased free testosterone levels. Sildenafil didn't provide relief. You take marijuana occasionally.
See before going to treatment part I would like to know if you are have any complaints of hypertension or diabetes mellitus. Both of these conditions are common after 40-50 years age and may cause decrease in libido.
Secondly if you are having symptoms of depression. Low libido may be one of presenting symptoms in depression.
You are on Escitalopram which is a SSRI drug and on high doses it can cause slight decrease in libido apart from other sexual side effects like delayed ejaculation, anorgasmia etc. So before going to treatment I would advise you to consult your doctor again for review of drug Lexapro. Other drugs like Bupropion, Mirtazepine are also having anti depressant and anti anxiety actions and are free of sexual side effects. Proper control of depressive and anxiety symptoms will improve your libido.
There are a lot of herbal medicines which have proven results in low libido. Medicines like Tentax Forte when take properly improves libido. The medicines is devoid of serious side effects and can be taken without prescription.
Taking fenugreek seeds is also a good option. The seeds have good medicinal value in improving libido.
Start doing light exercises daily and this will improve your mood and libido.
Hope this helps you, if you have more questions you can ask again.
Thanks
