Suggest Treatment For Dehydration And Diarrhea With Blood And Mucous Discharge
1. Is this normal with enteritis and taking antibiotics to clear it up?
2. The ct scan would have shown crohns and ulcerative colitis and he said mine was infection. Does this sound right?
3. Do blood clots happen at healing?
4. Should I be overly concerned about the clots?
Unlikely to be Inflammatory bowel disease
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
Enteritis / Colitis can be associated with blood clots even in healing phase. Presence of clots and especially if associated with bright red blood suggest Colon as likely source of bleeding.
Diagnosis of Inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns ) disease is based on typical CT scan finding and confirmed by histopathology examination. It's unlikely to be any of them .
Blood clots can happen in the healing phase . I hope thorough physical examination was done which included proctoscopy and Digital rectal examination to rule out local cause like Hemorrhoids.
If the clots are not associated with any of the following symptoms then there is no cause for concern
1. Absence of abdominal pain
2. No distension of abdomen
3. Absence of Fever
4. Appetite normal and no nausea
If the clots recur then do consult your physician for thorough clinical examination and assessment.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
Take care

1. I have been on antibiotics since Wednesday and tonight I have a slight fever of 99.4 (my normal is around 98.2) Can this be due to the medicine working and fighting the infection? Other than the slight fever and sluggishness I feel much better.
Fever due to residual infection
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms
The mild fever is likely to be due to residual infection. It should subside soon. Do continue with the medicine and kindly follow the previous advise.
