Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea

Question: I woke up yesterday morning sick on my stomach,and diarrhea. Tonight I woke up at 1am with the same and severe heartburn. I took my lantana don't feel sick but I am still up with diarrhea. Should I be concerned tonight?

I have gone through your history and the medicines which you are on for different ailments. The medications which you are taking for different ailments are known to cause irritation of the gastric mucosa leading to symptoms like diarrhea, stomach pain and heartburn.

As your symptom of heartburn comes down with Mylanta, which is an antacid used for the treatment of acid peptic diseases.

I would suggest you to undergo lab investigations like blood test,breath tests, and endoscopy to find out if there is any ulcers and H Pylori infection, which may cause all these symptoms.

I recommend you to take H2 receptor antagonist like Ranitidine, 150 mg on empty stomach in the early morning for 15 days with excess of water.This will help you to control the symptoms of gastric irritation associated with the medicines which you are taking.
