Brief Answer:
Ovulation monitoring may help you

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

I believe when you mention as 'Family Planning' you are referring to attempts to conceive.

Yes, hypothyroid state is one of the causes for failure to conceive. Please upload your Thyroid function test reports and mention the detailed treatment you are undergoing for Hypothyroidism. What is the dose of the Levothyroxine you are taking?

Please inform me your detailed menstrual history; i.e. age of menarche, periodicity of menses, number of days of bleeding, amount of bleeding and pain factor. Also inform me the dates of your last 3-6 menstrual cycles.

If intercourse on day 14 of the cycle is not working, you have to find out when does your egg is getting released (ovulation). The best investigation for this at this stage is ultrasonography. Submit yourself for ultrasonography from day 9 onwards to find out the day of ovulation. Try to plan your sexual relations on and around this day.

Also try to get the following information from the ultrasonography:

1. The size of the follicle just before the egg release. Follicles between the size of 18 mm and 21 mm release the healthiest eggs which have maximum chances of successful pregnancy.

2. Thickness of the uterine lining (endometrium) on the day of ovulation. Endometrium of thickness between 9 mm and 14 mm is most conducive for implantation of the fertilized ovum.

If your eggs are not released normally, you may have to get the reproductory hormonal profile done. I shall tell you about it more after you upload the reports and images of ovulation monitoring.

Also you will have to get the information about the patency of your tube and uterine cavity normalcy. Hysterosalpingography and Laparoscopy can provide you this information.

Please get your husband's semen examination also done after 4 days of sexual abstinence. Please upload the reports for my review.

After you provide me with the required information and the reports, I shall advise you further.

For any more information or doubt, please feel free to ask me anytime.
