Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Walking And Slurred Speech
Average to LOWER than average chance of stroke.
Detailed Answer:
Good morning and thank you for your question. Your husband's symptoms are NOT TYPICAL for stroke of the brain but should be evaluated in person by someone. Jerky motions of the hands could be due to any number of metabolic problems and especially if he hasn't taken his antiepileptic medication at every dosing interval. Therefore, he should be evaluated for COMPLIANCE to his medications and perhaps, the follow-up with his neurologist should be more consistent.
Falls can also suggest metabolic problems....AND in this particular case, stroke in the posterior fossa (cerebellum) at least as likely as not may be manifesting itself by way of the falls and slurred speech as well, this could be from either a small cerebellar or brainstem stroke.
I would also make sure his sugars in his bloodstream have not gone out of control as that can cause many of the same symptoms including confusion, balance problems, and slurred speech.
