Suggest Treatment For Dilatation Of Pancreatic Duct

Question: I was diagnosed by my neurologist that the pancreatic duct was prominent measuring 3mm in diameter and recommended that it be corrected clinically. I couldn't at that time #1 my sister who is a Dr said its nothing and #2 I was the only one doing 24/7 in home care for my mom who suffered from advanced Alzheimer's . After losing mom and coming back home my new internist is looking at it as anything but nothing and has sent me to an endocrinologist. The lab work and glucose levels definitely show something going on as my glucose levels are high, I have PAD where I didn't before and after doing some rematch didn't realize the pancreas controlled the insulin and that some kind of endoscopy was recommended but now I'm very concerned. What is your take on the matter? Things are now complicated with a cluster of cysts in the left kidney putting me a stage 1-2 mildly reduced kidney function and an area that appears to be a 5 mm complex cyst possibly representing a hemorrhagic cyst and an area that appears to be a dromedary hump. I have had cyst issues before and they were parasitic in nature in the liver but most doctors don't believe . What's your take on all this? I'd like to take a 2 week round of flagyl and kill the buggers like I did when they took up camp in the liver and fix the pancreas duct but who do I go to? My prior Dr.s have passed away who do I go to go help?

Hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern. Regarding to your symptoms, my opinion is that you should visit gastroenterologist who will at first try to discover the reason of dilatation. The doctor might order for transabdominal ultrasound followed by endoscopical ultrasound to confirm the cause. In the same act he will probably make a procedure if it is possible and necessary.

Dilatation of pancreatic duct can be connected with cysts in your kidney in few cases. If they are connected then you probably suffer from a systematic issue, like an aiutoimmune disease or you are right and you have a parasite.

So I hope you will listen to my advice and visit gastroenterologist who will discover the reason of dilatation of pancreatic duct and after you know the reason he will tell you if these two conditions are connected or not. You may have a pancreatic stone which causes dilatation.
