Question: My husband is disoriented, not dizzy. To me it sounds like an inner ear problem, But his eyes are bloodshot,

He worked all day mostly fine. But if he looks to the side, he loses his equalibrium.

Apparently today he had to bend down to pick something up and didn't exactly lose his balance but had to crouch on the floor to balance himself, to stand up.

Brief Answer:
Loss of balance,disorientation ?cerebellar involvement

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common disorder of the inner ear’s vestibular system/vestibular neuritis caused by viral infection and cause imbalance ,problematic head movements.

Alternatively it can be due to acute alcoholism (blood shot eyes) affecting cerebellum with Vitamin B1 deficiency/viral cerebellitis or cerebellar stroke(loss of balance/equilibrium-particularity looking to one side).
More detailed history and physical examination is needed.
