Suggest Treatment For Dry And Itchy Throat
Question: A couple days ago I've been noticing my voice very raspy sounding and throat very dry and scratchy. When I woke up this morning I had a very sore throat and noticed white patches on tonsils and throat. I have no fever and no other symptoms besides feeling tired. I also had a nose bleed earlier today that didn't last very long. When I looked at the back of my throat it looked like it was bleeding but when I drank water it wahsed away. Not sure what this could be since my only main symptoms seem to be the white patches on my throat and tonsils and a minor sore throat and feeling fatigue. I'm nervous it could be mono or something more serious. I attached two pictures. Any thoughts ?
Brief Answer:
Gurgling with lukewarm water should provide relief
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I have checked the attached images. Although the tonsils are enlarged, it does not seem to be something serious. Such sore throat can be caused due to some viruses like Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) (causes mono), or some bacteria like Streptococcus (causes Strep throat). Irrespective of the cause, all you need to do is to gurgle with lukewarm water and recovery will occur in a week or so.
I do not think that it is something more serious.
Please be patient. Let me know if I could help further.

Did you notice the white spots ?
Brief Answer:
Gurgling with lukewarm water should suffice
Detailed Answer:
Yes I did. It is possibly due to follicular tonsillitis. As mentioned it could be due to viral or bacterial cause but does not usually need to be treated with antibiotics. Gurgling with lukewarm water should suffice and it is not likely to be a cause concern.
