Question: Although I make short sobbing often during my sleep and during the daytime hours.....I am unable to shead tears. I would welcome the relief of crying tears.
Somewhat desperate!!!!!
Brief Answer:
Multi vitamins, artificial tears.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the query and understood your concern.
Short sobbing during sleep usually occurs without any tear drops.
If you are feeling dryness, itching, burning or irritation in eyes, then it suggests lack of lacrimation or also due to normal aging process our eyes produce gradually less oil in the tear film results in quicker evaporation leading to the formation of dry spots on our eyes. If any of the symptoms you can apply artificial tear drops into eyes to prevent these symptoms.
If you are on any drugs with anticholinergic property or with diuretics these problem can occur and if so you can adjust the dosage with examination from your doctor.
In old age nutrients shown to be helpful in improving tear quality, including vitamin A precursors, and vitamins C, E, D and B6. So with multi vitamin treatment lacrimation and tear drops quality will improve and I advice the same for you along with artificial tear (glycerine). Have plenty of water with good sleep.
If this does not help you then kindly consult your opthalmologist once for examination and management.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
