Suggest Treatment For Ear And Jaw Pain

Ice and analgesics
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.
Would you clarify a few things for me, please?
*when did you sustain the injury?
*any bruising or skin discoloration?
*any ringing in the ears? Any headache?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medications?
I recommend :
-ice pack (wrapped in a thin cloth) application over the injured area. Keep in 10 seconds on and then 5 seconds off. Do this for 15 minutes, three times a day till pain eases
-paracetamol 650mg thrice a day for 2 days for pain.
-an ENT consult to check for ear drum injury.
-avoid sleeping on the left side and keep your head elevated (use an additional pillow) above your chest level to reduce swelling, if present.
Being slapped classifies as domestic abuse. Nobody has the right to hurt you, no matter what. Please understand, know and exercise your rights.
Seek an elder's, friend's or relative's help if this Continues. At the least, you need to see a doctor to check for internal injuries.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Hope you feel better. Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad

Thanks for answering my query.
This happens a day ago.
There is little swelling. I have a little headache.
Do you suggest any more medication.
Thank you, XXXXXXX
Just ice and paracetamol for now
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
Ice and paracetamol should do for now. If the swelling hasn't gone down by tomorrow, I suggest :
- tab. Lyser-d twice a day for 2 days with continued ice pack application.
If you don't have an ice pack, a water packet kept in the freezer or anything frozen packets (vegetables, parathas, grated coconut) can help.
Hope you feel better soon. Best wishes.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
