Easy bruising sign of hypothyroidism
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM
I see you are concerned about your hypothyroidism as a cause of your recent continued fatigue and excessive bruising. With low thyroid your body is not working at full capacity and there are numerous effects of that low metabolism. In this case a low platelet count could occur and cause the bruising and blood blisters you are experiencing. To help improve your platelet counts I recommend stopping any alcohol and any anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or aspirin. Tylenol is ok.
I would ask you to see your doctor again and have them repeat your TSH, free T4 and T3 levels.
To improve your overall health and improve fatigue I recommend
1. getting plenty of sleep and that means 8-10 hours for most adults
2. avoid alcohol
3. reduce stress try meditation or yoga classes
4. exercise regularly and it can be mild walking 30-60 mins daily everyday.
5. Take your medications everyday at the same time and try to get the same medication and not have the pharmacy switch brands. Or insist on the branded form of levothyroxine.
