Suggest Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction

Question: Hi, I am a 28 year old male. My height is 5'10, and I weigh 76 kgs, leading pretty much a sedentary lifestyle. My main issue is that I am not able to get a hard enough erection even when I am sexually excited. I have been masturbating one or two times everyday for a long time now, some of it to porn and some of it to my own fantasies. Sometimes in the mornings or when I am masturbating, my penis does get a little hard but it softens very soon and is not able to sustain its (semi) hardness. I am beginning to feel worried as I am engaged and will get married very soon. Will regular exercise and lifestlye changes help me solve this issue? Please advise.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been indulged in frequent masturbation since many years and now facing problem of Erectile Dysfunction (E.D).

The problem of your E.D is secondary to frequent and habitual masturbation .

Do not worry this will get resolved provided you are determined to restrict your habitual masturbation .Following measure will help you to boost up your confidence and resolve your problem of E.D.
1) Practice regular exercise for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the morning.
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3)Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday..
4) Avoid alcohol and smoking.

Please try to reduce the frequency of masturbation and watching porn videos by keeping yourself busy in activities like sports,reading ,social work etc so that you will not get free time to masturbate.

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for your swift response and for your advice. Will surely follow the steps mentioned by you.

Out of curiosity, I would like to know how excessive masturbation is linked with E.D. Do the penile muscles get worn out in the process, or does it damage the arteries supplying blood to the penis?

Also, on an average, how much time do you think it might take to observe any substantial change in the condition as per the lifestyle changes mentioned by you? Is there any particular dietary supplement that can help in increasing the blood flow to the penis, or are the above points mentioned by you sufficient? I'm a little stressed due to this issue, and I fear it might only compound the situation further!

A person who is addicted to alcohol does not have same effect of alcohol after few years it is same with addiction to masturbation .

It will take 6-8 months to see the results of conservative treatment which I have suggested but it is sure to happen .

Follow the dietary measure which I have suggested in my reply earlier .There is no need to take extra supplements .

Hello Doctor,

Thanks for your clarification. So do you suggest that masturbation should be stopped completely for the next 6-8 months? I have read about terms like 'porn-induced ED' on the internet, and how people feel that completely abstaining from masturbation for certain periods of time will ensure a 'reboot' of their erectile functioning. Also, does cyling as a form of cardiovascular exercise have any effect on the ability to get and sustain erections?
