Suggest Treatment For Excessive Flatulence And Bloating

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Aug 2016
Question: I recently went to my primary doctor for gastro issues. Some of symptoms included excessive gas and bloating, sulfuric egg belches and diarrehia. My doctor ordered a panel of labs to be drawn that included an h pillory test, lactose test, and a celiac test. All results came back negative. He recently referred me to a gastro specialist who will conduct an endioscopy and a colonoscopy. Based on these symptoms and results from previous labs, do you know what it could possibly be? Could it be an issue with my pancreas? Could these symptoms be related to mold exposure? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Functional dyspepsia, IBS

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.

Since all the tests are normal, the most possible causes for your symptoms are functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome.

If your gastro specialist finds nothing with upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy , he will confirm the above mentioned diagnosis and may prescribe you medications like Nexium and Librax.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.Barani
