Suggest Treatment For Fatty Liver And Fluctuating AST And ALT Levels
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I am a 56 year old male. I have a fatty liver and last year my AST was 81, ALT was 156. I had been drinking 3-4 drinks every day for years. I made a lifestyle change and reduced my drinking to 3-4 drinks per week. After a month of this behavior, my test came in even higher - AST 88, ALT 163.
Is it reasonable to expect a decline in these levels if I continue my current level of drinking?

Brief Answer:
no
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I would suggest to cut down on the number of drinks or even completely stop for some time.
As the levels have not come down after cutting down on alcohol consumption, there are less chances that they will fall further.
Hope this helps
