Brief Answer:
Best treatment for fecal impaction is glycerine suppositories
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HealthcareMagic,
The best treatment for fecal impaction is glycerine suppositories daily to be inserted into the rectum. After a couple of days lubricate gloves with glycerine, and introduce finger inside to gently remove impacted feces. Do this daily till it gets released.
Along with this take soluble psyllium husk--1 large spoon in 200 ml water at bedtime. This should work. But if it does not, then please go to ER for a glycerine enema for prompt relief.
Feel free to revert back.
Regards

The impactation is higher than the rectum when i had a camera inserted the specialist said i need to take oral medicines to soften the stools and movicol for pushing out. i did not know how long this would take or if i needed to go to hospital
Brief Answer:
maybe the best would be a glycerine enema for you.
Detailed Answer:
OK then glycerine suppository may not help.
Try soluble Psyllium husk and Movicol. If Movicol gives cramps then Bisacodyl--1-2 tablets at night is also good at evacuation. This may take some days.
But maybe the best would be a glycerine enema for you. This will soften the impaction even above rectum.
You can discuss this with your doctor.
Are you passing some stools or not?
