Suggest Treatment For Fever And Sprained Ankles

Question: My wife, sprained both ankles on Tuesday. In the ER vist they put one in an air cast . She has been improving with rest. This morning she has a fever of 101.5. She also suffers from bronchectisis and COPD. Just last week she was in the hospital receiving treatment with IV medrol and antibiotics. Is it possible that the Sprain is causing the fever or is this more likely a related to her respiratory issues?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Fever is more likely to be due to her respiratory issue. If there is also increasd pain at ankle then it can be due to it otherwise spains does not normally cause fever. Elevation, rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen are helpful in relieving pain and fever. You can discuss with your doctor about it.
