Suggest Treatment For Fever, Chills And Sore Throat

My symptoms started with fever, chills, sore throat. I thought it was the flu! We are traveling as my husband is working and I went to a walk in clinic and he said I had strep. No test was performed and he gave me omicef and in a week I was no better and I went to another walk in clinic and at that time the did a flu test, strep test and chest xray and that's when they found the pneumonia. We had to go to a location in a different state and I followed up with them.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.
Related your concern you should know that pneumonia is an infection of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungus. It can be diagnosed by a physician by chest x-ray in most cases (as in your case).
Most cases if caught early enough can be easily treated as an outpatient but it becomes more problematic in the elderly and immunodeficient people.
It often clears up in 2 to 3 weeks but older adults , babies, and people with other diseases can become very ill and they may need to be in the hospital and takes more time to recover.
So, your doctor will choose your antibiotic based on a number of things, including your age, your symptoms and how severe they are, and whether you need to go to the hospital.
The number of days you take antibiotics depends on your general health, how serious your pneumonia is, and the type of antibiotic you are taking.
I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.

It depends on your situation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!Thank you writing back.
Related your concern I think it depends on your situation and in the judgment of your doctor based on your cliniq, imagery and lab data.
Usually for my patients I search a follow up with x_ray after 1-2 weeks after finishing the ambulatory treatment but based as well on their symptoms.
I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.
