Suggest Treatment For Fever, Cough And Running Nose

Question: Two days back mu 4 years old son got fever by about 1.30am after giving paracetamol after 3 , 4 hours become normal. Boy is playing & having foods. In the nest day by about 2 am again he got fever as previous day. as usual we gave paracetamol and after 3,4 hours became normal. at the same time he has caugh & running nose as well. what could be reason getting fever like this.

Thanks for the query

Most common cause of fever with cough and cold in this age is due to some viral infection.
I won't get worried if baby is active / playful,accepting orally well and there is no breathing problem.
I would like to give some antiallergic like chlorpheniramine and decongestant like phenylephrine combination for cough and cold.
Give paracetamol if temperature is more than 100 F.
Monitor temperature so that we can assess the trend of fever.
In viral infection fever usually starts declining within 3-4 days.
Monitor for any breathing problem and if it developes consult your physician for clinical evaluation and management accordingly.
Continue feeding as earlier.
