Suggest Treatment For Fibrous Dysplasia In Pelvis

Question: Hi, I'm a 42 year old female and have fibrous dysplasia FD) in my pelvis. I have two small lesions, the one on the right tuberosity seems to be causing most of the pain. Over the last number of years the pain has been getting worse, with the occasional severe flare up. The local orthopedic surgeon keeps telling me FD doesn't cause pain, even though the studies done over the last 10 years or so show that pain can definitely be present in FD. Also, I have been in surgical menopause since 2009 so my natural bone protection is diminished, and I was told I don't need to take calcium or Fosamax or something similar. It is very frustrating, because the pain is definitely getting worse, and it doesn't seem to be taken seriously.

Biphosphonates can be given to you that decrease the activity of cells that dissolve the bone.

Thank you for your answer. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can convince the orthopedic surgeon that fibrous dysplasia can cause pain, even though the lesions may not have changed according to the CT scans?
